Landmark College (LC) is the premier institution for neurodiverse students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism, or executive function challenges. In fall 2021, LC established a physical presence in the California Bay Area with our Success Center. A rapidly expanding institution with a base campus in Vermont, LC has expanded through LC Online programs and the Success Center in order to serve more deserving individuals with services, courses, and degree programs. Due to this expansion and the success of the Bay Area Success Center, LC seeks an additional Learning Specialist at its San Mateo/Bay Area location.

Reporting to the Regional Director of Online Programs in CA, the Learning Specialist is responsible for providing personalized, in-person support services to students and other individuals in the Bay Area and, when provided in an online format, to individuals in any location. Services provided to clients may focus on knowledge and skill development in the following areas: study and learning strategies, transition, executive function, and social and emotional learning.

The Learning Specialist will have working knowledge of profiles of neurodivergent students and be well-versed in evidence-based interventions. The Learning Specialist must also be able to teach high school and college-level active reading, writing, and math strategies, as well as strategies to support, note-taking, test-taking, time management, problem solving, prioritization, and goal setting. Other responsibilities include managing student support data, identifying and assessing student success, as well as providing insight and tracking metrics for program success. The opportunity exists to fulfill these duties in either a half-time or a full-time role, depending on the candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, Psychology, or a related field. Several years of study skills intervention at the high school and/or college level is highly desirable with experience in online learning and engagement desirable. The ability to relate to and communicate with teenagers, young adults, and adults is necessary. Preference is given to individuals with experience working with students who learn differently and those who are willing to work on a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Located in southern Vermont, Landmark College is a premier institution for students who learn differently. As the nation’s first accredited college for students with learning disabilities (including dyslexia), ADHD, and ASD, we are a mainstream college with a unique, resource-rich academic model.
