Job Description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the relentless pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.

The DRAM and Emerging Memory Engineering Group (DEG) is responsible for developing innovative, high-performance DRAM products for customers all over the world. Our team plays a key role in all phases of the product lifecycle, but is most heavily integrated into the design and development, validation and qualification, production, and support of our products, contributing to over 70% of Micron’s revenue.

Verification Methodology Engineering

The Design Verification team collaborates with various Micron design and verification teams all over the world to establish and align verification flow development, optimization, and implementation. This team works multi-functionally to assure the best quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction of our products.

DFT Design

The Design DFT (Design for Test) group designs standard DFT related circuits for use in all DRAM designs across our portfolio. These team members work alongside product and test engineers, as well as, other design groups to define DFT specifications.

Digital Verification

The Centralized Verification Test Bench team focuses on developing efficient System Verilog and UVM based verification platforms to meet the needs of increased product variations and complexity. Through communication and collaboration with other design groups and business units, this team is responsible for getting our products fully simulated with test bench.

IP Design

This team focuses on critical circuits common to all DRAM-related memory products through the design of various analog and digital circuits, such as LDO, charge pump, custom digital circuits, as well as, power delivery network evaluation and optimization. The IP design team collaborates closely with Product Engineers to verify silicon performance vs. simulation performance of circuits, and with Process Integration teams to design circuits for our next innovative process nodes.

Layout

The Layout team translates schematic representations of circuits into physical representation of interconnected shapes. These representations are then used to create photo masks used in fabrication of our products. The Layout team is responsible for verifying the quality of layouts using industry and Micron tools to ensure circuit functionality matches schematic expectations.

DRAM Design

The DRAM Design Engineering team is responsible for the design, layout, and optimization of memory/logic/analog circuits used in our memory products, focusing on DDR4 and DDR5 portfolios. The design team partners closely with Micron’s various design and verification teams all over the world and supports the efforts of groups such as Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, and Marketing.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to the development of new product opportunities by assisting with the overall design, layout, and optimization of Memory/Logic/Analog circuits
  • Parasitic modeling and assisting in design validation, reticle experiments and required tape-out revisions
  • Overseeing and managing the layout process including floor-planning, placement, and routing
  • Performing verification processes with modeling and simulation using industry standard simulators
  • Contributing to cross group communication to work towards standardization and group success
  • Working with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, and Product Engineering groups to ensure accurate manufacturability of product
  • Proactively solicit guidance from Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification groups to improve the design quality
  • Driving innovation into the future Memory generations within a dynamic work environment
