Neurodiversity Hiring Program – Technology Development Program: Software Engineer

Combine two of the fastest-growing fields on the planet – technology and healthcare – with a culture of performance, collaboration, and opportunity and this is what you get Optum. Optum is proud to be leading technology in an industry that's improving the lives of millions.

 About Optum

Optum, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of businesses, is a leading information and technology-enabled health services company serving more than 127 million consumers, delivering the right care when and how it’s needed. We are dedicated to evolving health care so everyone can have the opportunity to live their healthiest life.

Our approach to technology isn’t about designing another app to fix health care. It’s about connecting patients and members to their care teams, payers to providers, and ultimately connecting a disconnected health system so that it works better for the people it was created to serve.

 About the Neurodiversity Hiring Program

At Optum, we know the extraordinary happens when we value, include, and learn from diverse people and perspectives. That’s why we’re committed to building an innovative culture where every team member is empowered to do their best work, where our diversity fuels our performance, and where we leverage our collective power to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.

We are committed to creating a culture where diversity is celebrated, equity is realized, and inclusion is embraced. Embracing Neurodiversity means we are committed to the equality and inclusion of people who experience, process, understand, communicate, and think about the world differently.

The Neurodiversity Hiring Program seeks to attract talented Neurodivergent candidates - Neurodivergence encompasses a wide range of cognitive and neurological differences such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Tourette’s, and others. Our program takes a strengths-based approach to recruitment and hiring by providing alternative ways for candidates to highlight their skills and unique talents. Our program also provides individualized support and training needed for career growth and success in the workplace.
