Global Strategic Tax & Customs is the tax organization with overall accountability for taxes all over the world including customs, indirect tax, etc.
The function reports to the Group CFO and within this global tax function there are 5 functions – a Business Tax Advisory function, a Tax Policy & Controversy function, a Planning & Structuring function, a Tax Governance function, and Projects and Performance function. The Senior Tax Manager, Vietnam is a role within the Business Tax Advisory (“BA”) team.
Tax Operations & Compliance are handled in a separate and team which is part of our BSO team (Business Service Operations).
Core Responsibilities
Evaluate and advise on the tax impact for projects and ad hoc advisories for the business of Vietnam operations. Support factory go live and on going support.
Strong link to Tax Operations & Compliance team to ensure tax governance and support in the development of processes for compliance.
Tax Risk & opportunity finding and assure the mitigation plan is pursued.
Responsible for managing tax audits and enquiries in Vietnam. Managing relationships with local tax authorities.
Monitor Vietnam local legislation ensuring we are on top of all local legislations impacting the LEGO Group. This includes ensuring inputs are provided to legislators so we can live up to our tax responsibility agenda of proactively supporting sustainable tax rules.
Do you have what it takes?
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, law would be preferred.
ACCA preferred or other equivalent qualifications.
10 +years’ work experience in Tax (covering direct taxes and indirect taxes). The role is a generalist tax role covering all taxes including employment taxes, customs, direct and indirect taxes
Big 4 plus in-house experience preferred.
Collaborative and growth mindset to work with a diversified global team.
Strong stakeholder management
Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English
