Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager to join our Sales department, covering the Midlands Territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background and a proven track record in the metal cutting industry. This role focuses on both account management and business development, targeting large end users within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with existing clients.
- Prepare and process documentation for orders.
- Manage existing accounts while actively seeking and establishing new ones.
- Define and propose manufacturing solutions tailored to meet customer needs.
- Present machine specifications and associated costs to clients.
- Coordinate resources, including Applications and Service teams, to deliver optimal solutions.
- Support customers in justifying purchases and calculating return on investment.
- Ensure timely achievement of payment milestones.
- Manage and complete all necessary documentation in line with internal agreements.
- Achieve an annual Capital Sales target of approximately 8 million.

Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
- Proven sales negotiation skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience within the metal cutting industry.
- Strong engineering background and relevant qualifications.
- Confidence in preparing and delivering presentations.
- Excellent communication skills at all business levels.
- Superior time management and planning abilities.
- Highly motivated and self-driven.
- Ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
- In-depth knowledge of the customer base within the West Midlands region.
Desirable Criteria:
- Strong understanding of the machine tool market.
- Experience with CRM systems.
- Completion of a time-served apprenticeship.
- Experience in preparing and presenting technical quotations.
