About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Development, the commercial manager is responsible for negotiating complex EPC and O&M contract agreements, managing multiple stakeholders and supporting the commercial strategy across a large portfolio of renewable assets. As an experienced Commercial Manager with a deep understanding of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) contracts, you are proficient in managing contract negotiation and execution, particularly in large-scale solar projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead EPC and O&M agreement negotiations with potential contractors, managing and documenting the process from drafting to final execution.
- Act as an interface with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project development and successful financial close.
- Manage the procurement of various key contracts, resolving issues and addressing disputes in line with business strategic goals.
- Provide commercial advice for performance improvement, identifying and managing contractual risks, ensuring compliance and mitigating potential challenges.
- Participate in due diligence processes for project acquisitions, assessing contractual and development aspects.
- Work closely with the Development and Grid Connection teams to align contract requirements with project specifications, ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory and compliance obligations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Finance or related study.
- Proven track record of negotiating high value multi-disciplinary EPC contracts.
- Multiple years’ experience relevant to role requirements within the renewable energy/solar industry, infrastructure or power projects.
- Sound commercial acumen through end-to-end delivery of contract strategy development, contract negotiation and contract administration.
- Sound leadership skills and ability to inspire, support and optimize team performance.
- Strong interpersonal skillset and proven ability and credibility to influence outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solution-driven, and possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills.
