JOB REQUISITES
Role Summary
To independently produce, check and review traction power, Earthing and Bonding design and drawings as instructed and commensurate with own knowledge and experience using relevant standards. In addition to produce design drawings where specialist knowledge is required and when directed by the Design Manager.
- To act as an Engineering Consultant when required.
- To assist in the training of other team staff including acting as a mentor.
- To act as independent checker as directed.
- Provide independent SME support to the organization for Signalling.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for traction power, Earthing and Bonding design and drawings
- Primary technical responsibility for traction power, Earthing and Bonding design and drawings .
- Acting as the specialism Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead Technical Advisor (TA) within the business and externally to clients and partners.
- Seeking new opportunities and provision of bid support.
- Oversee all specialism in team members and competency requirements
- Provide mentorship and competency assessments for the specialism team members
- Production or verification and approval of traction power, Earthing and Bonding design and drawings and other documentation at concept, preliminary and detailed design stages.
- To produce integrated design details and supporting documentation using first principles for relevant parts of a new or altered system.
- To undertake complex designs with minimal rework in accordance with required design competency.
- Work with other Team Leads and Heads of Service to manage resourcing of work.
- Develop innovative ideas which deliver service and product growth, client satisfaction improvement or operational performance improvement. Develop business plans in support of the identified ideas and champion their development and implementation
- To produce specifications and other relevant documentation when required
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Conform to internal corporate rules, processes and/or procedures.
- To assist as required or instructed, the Design Manager/HoD in the execution of his duties.
- Provide input in the compilation, review or approval of Quality Management System documentation.
- Adhere to all statutory regulations, client standards or specifications where appropriate.
- To assist other colleagues in achieving their Switzerland Competencies, Mentoring or Training.
- To undertake risk assessments and analysis using the appropriate tools and methods required.

Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge in systems for traction & power system including LV & HV electrical systems, switchboards and equipment selection, earthing and bonding, and protection systems.
- Experience in electrical calculation & modelling.
- Familiar with software viz. CDEGS, ETAP, SKM, ProjectWise etc.
