Job Summary:
Job purpose
Responsible for developing, reviewing audio and visual footage and using software to produce edits into a cohesive finished project. Duties include post-production editing, splitting or combining video clips, adding appropriate sounds or graphics and adapting video content to various native applications such as social media, website, television, paid media channels, physical presentations and events.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience.
- Take a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications.
- Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity.
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film.
- Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects.
- Create rough and final cuts.
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running.
- Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process.
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
- Generate video graphics packages based on approved branding guidelines.
Education requirements
Bachelor’s degree in film studies, cinematography, marketing or related field
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in video content production.
Background and experience
- Background and proven working experience as video production editor or digital media producer.
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut).
- Shipping, maritime and logistics industry expertise is a plus.
Competencies and skills
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio and familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
- Adequate knowledge of video requirements for social media channels
- Strong creative, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Creative mind and storytelling skill
