Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Architecture Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and system design, with a focus on high voltage safety integration. This role involves creating Electrical Architecture Block Diagrams for various High Voltage Electrification Programs and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development and implementation of safety and architecture requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Electrical Architecture Block Diagrams for High Voltage Electrification Programs.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Advanced Engineering, program chiefs, and safety teams to review and update HVS diagrams.
- Lead and participate in HV Architecture definition and Safety Subsystem level DFMEA's.
- Attend technical meetings to understand and implement changes to HVS diagrams.
- Ensure all HV architectures are up to date and accurately posted on SharePoint.
- Provide HVS diagrams to architecture teams for integration into system electrical diagrams (SED).
- Support system requirement teams on HV safety features and provide feedback for design robustness.
- Track and convey issues, document best practices, and update continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical assessments to management and vehicle teams for successful implementation of safety and architecture requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited or equivalent university.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in product design or system engineering.
- Strong knowledge in product engineering design and development, with emphasis on systems and product development.
- Understanding of real-time systems, hardware, and software.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and recommended practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate activities with cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills:
- System architecture knowledge and experience.
- HV component knowledge.
- Vehicle integration knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an ABET-accredited or equivalent university, or other graduate-level technical degrees in relevant specialty expertise.
- Experience with school projects related to electrified vehicles.
- In-depth knowledge of electrification technology, functionality, and features at the system level.
- High voltage safety experience with hands-on work on high voltage systems/components.
- Experience with HV safety features including isolation, interlock loop, and equipotential bonding.
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) requirements.
- Familiarity with assembly plant operations and the overall development process.
- High voltage training and experience is desirable.
