This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join one of Mercer’s largest and most rapidly-growing business areas – investment solutions. Mercer's Investment Solutions (IS) business provides sophisticated implementation and investment services to clients. The business has grown rapidly over recent years with $400bn of client assets now under management globally, c.$160bn of which is invested on behalf of international investors. Our Investor base is institutional and typically clients are DB/DC Pension Schemes, but the business is expanding into new segments including Insurance & Wealth Management.
Services are provided across a range of areas through traditional and alternative asset classes reflecting Mercer’s best investment ideas. Mercer’s Portfolio Management Team in turn selects third party managers, from Mercers list of “A” rated managers in each asset class thus combining Mercer's in-house portfolio management expertise with the depth and breadth of Mercer Investment’s global investment manager research.
The Client Management team is responsible for servicing Mercer Delegated Solutions clients in Europe and UK. This includes management of key service areas of investment consulting support.
This role will primarily be focused on the reporting and analytics aspects of the business. The role will be multi-faceted and fluid, requiring an individual that has a diverse background across Funds/Asset Management. The core experience and skills will be a mix of investment solutions and client reporting. The successful candidate will be able to manage the successful delivery of routine, defined BAU tasks as well as use their own initiative to navigate Mercer investment’s client needs to drive solutions development for the team.

We will count on you to:
- Take charge of the imminent delivery workflow coming into IC
- Driving new business initiatives that are combination of research and delivery specs as known
- Stakeholder management
- Develop recommendations to hold/liquidate investment managers basis through research on manager performance, market developments and macro-economic environment
- Providing support to onshore consultants on a variety of topics including client queries regarding performance analysis, strategic asset allocation advice, economic commentaries, document drafting and PowerPoint presentations.
- Liaising with wider operational, portfolio management and consulting teams across Mercer, including management of projects as they arise.
- Liaising with our dedicated performance reporting unit in relation to the production and delivery of client investment reports within tight deadlines.
- Be a SPOC for the team for assigned scope. Scale the expertise in the team anticipating the future workflow and growing sophistication of existing projects
- Production of bespoke and ad-hoc investment reports.
- Assisting in the implementation of changes to investment strategy arrangements as decided by our clients
- Assisting in investment strategy reviews including pension asset-liability analysis and design of dynamic de-risking frameworks
- Prepare a Client Audit Request response and a typical Client Valuation Request response
- Prepare valuation reports basis the cash flow information for the clients’ investment portfolio
- Contribute to other investment consulting support activities as assigned
- Deliver to agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) and work within the set policies and guidelines
- Where appropriate, propose updates and improvements to current processes
- Contribute to other group projects as assigned
- Contribute and participate in knowledge development initiatives
- Coaching and guidance to the junior and new team members
- Attend queries, concerns, suggestions from stakeholders
What you need to have:
- Prior Experience: 3+ years of work experience in relevant domain
- Education/ Qualification: Masters in Applied mathematics or similar field, Finance or MBA. Candidates having MBA/CFA/FRM will be an advantage.
- Adept in undertaking and articulating investment research and insights
- Ability to understand and interpret large amounts of fund performance indicators
- Comfortable in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to absorb new information quickly
- Managing Relationships: Demonstrates the ability to build relationships with colleagues from a variety of different divisions / Demonstrates effective communication skills
- Planning and Organizing: Able to prioritize workload effectively to support the team
