Job Description:
Minimum qualifications:
- Having 8-10 years’ experience overall and 3 to 5 years' relevant experience in a scrum master role
- Familiarity with agile software development
- Excellent knowledge of Scrum Framework, Ceremonies, Artifacts.
Preferred qualifications:
- Good knowledge of other Agile frameworks such as Safe and Kanban.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Scrum master certification is a plus
Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic Roles and Responsibilities:
- The Scrum Master acts as champion for Agile Product Development by:
- Encouraging the organization to adopt the scrum methodology in their own workflow.
- Coaching the organization on the transition to a scrum working framework
- Keeping the organization, particularly the project’s stakeholders, up to date on the progress of the scrum team’s projects
Operational Responsibilities:
- Helping the team agree on what they can achieve during each development sprint.
- Helping the team continuously make progress on the project by making sure each person is working on the right tasks, helping to remove any obstacles to the team members’ progress, and protecting the team from distractions.
- Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups
- Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration.
- Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests.
- Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur.
- Help teams implement changes effectively.
- Encourage team to meet the set quality standards for the deliverables at the end of each sprint.
- Guide development teams to higher scrum maturity
Stakeholder Management:
- The Scrum Master supports Product Manager by Making sure everyone on the team understands the project’s goals and scope.
- Helping the product owner maintain the product backlog.
- Facilitating scrum events (daily stand-ups, other meetings) as needed
- The Scrum Master supports the Development Team by:
- Coaching the development team in self-organization
- Helping to remove obstacles to the developers’ progress.
- Facilitating scrum events (daily stand-ups, other meetings) as needed
People Management:
- Develop employee capability and build functional excellence through various learning and development interventions and mentoring initiatives.
- Foster an environment of learning, excellence, and innovation within the team and across teams.
- Coach team members in Agile frameworks
- Help build a productive environment where team members ‘own’ the product and enjoy working on it
