We are looking for an ambitious sales professional who can deliver success whilst having some fun along the way and being rewarded for hard work.
You will be joining our fast-paced, highly skilled commercial team which is at the core of our business. Your role will be to generate interest in BCB products, to find new opportunities for our business and to manage and grow existing customers. You will be working alongside our current tender team and defence sales team. You will be based in our Cardiff office and report directly to the Managing Director.
The role involves the following responsibilities:
- Direct engagement with stakeholders with particular emphasis on frequent and regular contact customers in both Defence and non-defence accounts, to achieve/surpass your annual sales targets.
- Development and maintenance of customer contacts and long-term customer account management.
- Lead and support bids and tenders.
- Own and drive programmes - from supplier to customer.
- Contract management.
- Provide input to new product development, marketing and business development / strategy.
What skills do you need to have :
- Commercially minded.
- Defence or blue light background.
- Goal orientated and driven.
- Motivated, confident and self-assured.
- Cultural empathy – French, Arabic, or German spoken/written languages are a plus (Southern European languages in general).
- Experience of trading through European defence/blue light distributors.
- Thrive in a competitive environment.
- Ability to create strong relationships with potential customers.
- Ability to assimilate and promote varied range of survival and defence products with multiple applications.
- Capable negotiator.
- Able to create and manage pipeline effectively.
- Able to prioritise, multi-task and work on your own initiative.
- Strong telesales / phone skills /meetings empathy.
The role :
As the first point of contact into our amazing business, you will be responsible for defence and blue light contacts in a specific region of Europe. You will seek out and respond to tenders while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships. You will seek out new opportunities, selling our products into new clients and building relationships with them. You will interact with them initially virtually and by email/phone, and visit them where possible. You will contact a variety of warm leads and your own generated prospects as well as having the opportunity to be the first impression of BCB. Your role will also be to generate and help market our business, and you will work alongside our existing sales team to bring new business into the company. The product range is constantly evolving so there is always something to learn.
