John Batman Group is a supplier of specialist accommodation services to clients throughout Australia and the South Pacific and has been a well-recognised brand in the industry since 1963.
The company, now based in Lilydale on the edge of the Yarra Valley, is made up of a small team including warehouse, bookbinding, sales, design, and administration.
Our hotel products include specialised toiletries, linen, toweling, digital solutions, guest directories, and much more.
The business has a client base of over 8000 around Australia and the Pacific, and our team is constantly busy.
THE ROLE:
Our products are highly regarded in the market and the successful applicant will be the go-to person for clients when they telephone, email, or make enquiries on the website.
In this role, the successful applicant will be involved in the marketing and sales process from end to end.
Creating clever marketing strategies, monitoring company success, dealing with telephone queries, taking orders, following up abandoned carts, chasing stock, and making outbound calls are all part of a day’s work.
Being involved in a small team, you will work proactively in the business to increase market share, increase customer satisfaction, and maintain client relationships.
Email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings are often occurring simultaneously, and high-level communication skills are pivotal to success in this job.
You must have a good aptitude for technology to work within this role because you will be responsible for website maintenance and electronic marketing.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Be motivated and able to work strategically in a small, team environment
- Marketing qualification or at least two years in a marketing role
- Demonstrate excellence in product sales and client relationship management, including superior communication skills and a capacity to make clients feel at ease
- Ability to comprehend and find solutions for client problems
- Ability to create new strategies to grow market share
- Ability to create leads and close sales quickly and independently to meet weekly, monthly, and annual budgets
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Possess excellent administrative, numeracy, and literacy skills
- Possess accurate and efficient data entry and keyboard skills
- Have the ability to work strictly to budget and to undertake workarounds when issues arise
- Have the ability to find innovative customer solutions autonomously and within the confines of cost constraints
- Have a positive mindset and a happy attitude
