Our planning team is growing! We are currently recruiting for lawyers at all levels and would be delighted to receive applications from those with 2 years’ PQE as minimum. We welcome interest from those working in planning law, in either private practice or the public sector who are excited by the opportunity to work with some of the most highly regarded planning solicitors in the region.
The role
You will support our planning team on a range of interesting development and infrastructure projects, as well as having your own responsibilities which will include:
- Drafting, negotiating, and finalising planning and highway agreements
- Advising on development and planning-related needs across all sectors
- Undertaking planning due diligence to support our real estate, banking and corporate clients
- Advising on enforcement cases and preparation for Judicial Review
What we are looking for
To be considered you will need to have a minimum of 2 years’ PQE working in planning, or a Legal Executive with comparable experience. You may have considerably more experience and may even be in a broader role where planning is part of your remit, or even someone who has been away from planning for a period of time but is keen to return. Your background could be in either private practice or working for a local authority – experience gained across both would be highly advantageous.

The role is based in Leeds, with the possibility of working from home 2-3 days per week.
The team
Clarion’s planning team is highly regarded and our experts are involved in a range of significant projects across the UK. They have worked on many of Leeds and Yorkshire’s most notable developments. We have experience across the full spectrum of planning and related areas of law, including highways, energy, minerals and aggregates, compulsory purchase, historic assets and public rights of way and we work across all sectors, in collaboration with Clarion’s other legal disciplines. The planning team is complemented by regulatory and energy law teams as well as a full service offer to clients.
