Description:

Trancy Logistics America, a leading provider of international freight forwarding and distribution services, is seeking an Accounting Specialist in our Erlanger, Kentucky headquarters. As Accounting Specialist, you will be part of the team responsible for maintaining the company's accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and job cost entry.

Essential Job Functions

Maintains the company's general ledger by entering accounting transactions into Sage Intacct software.
Responsible for preparing and entering bank deposits.
Responsible for reviewing and entering incoming wire transfers.
Responsible for entering accounts payable data.
Responsible for preparing cash disbursements. Prints checks and submits to CFO or other authorized signer for signature. Prepares ACH and international wire transfers.
Prepares and edits accounting entries for month-end close.
Communicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, and customers.
Examines job closing information submitted by operations personnel for exactness, clarity and conformance to accounting and company policies and procedures. Works with operations personnel to resolve any discrepancies.
Maintains accounting paperwork so any document is easily accessible.
Gathers necessary documentation for audits of the company's financial records.
May assist with payroll process and other administrative functions as needed.

Requirements:

One to three years' experience providing accounting and bookkeeping services. College coursework in accounting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with accounting software packages (Sage Intacct or comparable) and Microsoft Office is required. General use of office equipment including phones, copier, personal computer, etc. is required. A strong candidate for this position would demonstrate competency in all areas of accounting as well as problem solving skills, attention to detail, customer service skills, and dependability.
