Core Responsibilities
- Lead large design teams, ensuring effective allocation of designers with various capabilities across different projects. The functional leadership lies with the creative leader.
- Drive initiatives to strengthen the design culture, including behavioral change programs.
- Continuously assess and develop design skills to meet current and future strategic needs and provide solutions for addressing skill gaps.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the design resource pool to effectively plan resource allocation, balancing individual strengths, availability, and skills with the strategic and innovation needs of the organization
- Empower designers to create robust individual development plans that align with both company objectives and personal career aspirations.
- Foster cross-functional alignment and collaboration by engaging with relevant partners
- Optimize tools and workflows to meet innovation needs, establishing consistent and efficient ways of working within the LEGO design teams and beyond.
- Lead and participate in various projects across the LEGO Design spectrum, including community engagement, mentorship programs, and training initiatives, to galvanize team activities.
- Serve as a leadership role model, demonstrating bravery, focus, and curiosity in a creative design environment, and inspiring others to do the same.

As our new Senior Manager, you will build capabilities and talents in a caring, fun, and creative way, through solid cooperation and communication with key partners across the organization. In a culture where collaboration and creativity are key, you will lead Designers who create and design products that delight and inspire our audiences globally.
Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate holds a degree in a design-related field (Product/Graphic/Fashion/Toys), Fine Arts, Engineering or similar. You can come with a variety of educational backgrounds, but most important is your passion for leading and developing people combined with your proficiencies. Ideally, you have more than a handful of years' experience with people leadership in large, diverse and agile organizations, handling people processes across different areas. Moreover, we expect you to:
- Identify areas of improvement and drive vital changes.
- Demonstrate expertise in organizational change, inspiring and motivating others to move in the right direction.
- Leverage thorough understanding and experience in HR to create value-adding initiatives for all partners.
- Maintain a strong focus on achieving ambitious goals and overcoming obstacles.
- Proactively push and remind others, as well as drive personal accountability, to ensure tasks are completed.
- Exhibit strong communication skills, using the most effective channels and platforms for maximum impact.
- Show a clear passion for navigating multiple people-related topics simultaneously.
- Be self-reflective and committed to developing personal leadership skills.
- Demonstrate a collaborative, one-team approach and lead efficiently at all levels.
- Actively seek and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain composure and focus in stressful situations.
- Drive larger projects to completion through initiative and ownership.
