Responsibilities
OBXtek is recruiting for a Systems Engineer IV (Cloud-TCODE) to work on the PEO-T contract for USTRANSCOM.
The tasks for this person will be, but not limited to, the following:
- Lead transitioning Mobility Air Force Systems from its current lift and shift move into true DevSecOps.
- Provide solutions and implement for future system moves into the cloud/DevSecOps.
- Responsible for security, bringing operations and development together with security functions in the software development life cycle.
- Embed security in every part of the development process and automate core security tasks by embedding security controls and processes early in the DevOps.
- Communicate/coordinate with USTRANSCOM to understand established cloud and DevSecOps standards and promote adherence to standards.
- Research and recommend cloud and DevSecOps standards for AMC to augment USTRANSCOM standards, as necessary.
- Provide both strategic and tactical technical guidance/services for the AMC system and application re-engineering for cloud migration.
- Communicate/coordinate with AFLMC system and application owners to understand respective architectures and recommend refactoring approaches.
- Recommend and guide DevSecOps implementation approach and processes.
- Recommend standard measurements for tracking/reporting CCoE and system/application success related to cloud and DevSecOps efforts.
*Hybrid Teleworking. Expectation would most likely be: 2x/month onsite but subject to change.*
Qualifications
Active Secret Clearance
7+ years’ relevant experience.
The day to day of TCODE system engineer would be:

- Administering, monitoring, configuring AWS EC2, AWS RDS etc. (i.e., Expert level of knowledge of cloud environments is crucial)
- Assisting with proper RBAC administration and documentation
- Coordinating with ISSEs and ISSMs on a case-by-case basis
- Creating documentation about the TCODE platform (e.g., actual real world SOPs, system design documents etc.)
- May be asked to research a technology or solution and see if it can be implemented in the platform
- May be looking at STIGs and how to best implement them in the environment.
- Performing backlog grooming, sprint planning, and working on assigned issues using Agile Scrum methodology
- Reviewing NACLs and PPSM, and reviewing privileged user lists etc. (moderate understanding of RMF and security driven tasks is important with aligning engineering tasks to compliance requirements)
- Understanding of Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Fluentbit is important.
- Understanding of how code works (don’t have to be a professional Dev but even if they have worked on coding projects personally or as a hobby would be so useful)
- Understanding of IDAM/ICAM solutions (CNAP, keycloak, appgate etc)
- Understanding of software factory, code modernization, cloud environments, containerization, zero-trust, ci/cd pipelines security and quality gates. IT’s all driven by the DoD CIO mandate for modernization.
- Working hand in hand with TCODE Government System Engineer Lead
- Working on centralized logging
- Working with APIs to automate as many tasks as possible
- Working with Kubernetes (i.e., understanding of containerization is important)
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
- IAWIP Certification: IAM I (required)
