Iowa Orthopedic Center is actively seeking a motivated Surgical Technician or RN who Scrubs to join our team at our state of the art Ambulatory Surgery Center. In this role, you will care for patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, and be an integral team member providing surgical support for all bone, muscle, joint and spine cases. This role offers a dynamic and team-oriented environment focused on mutual support and improvement of patient outcomes.

Hours: Daytime hours, Monday - Friday
**This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus if you start in 2024**
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scrubs surgical cases.
- Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up and functioning and seeks appropriate resource when necessary.
- Assists in the circulating role under the direct supervision of RN.
- Prepares for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia provider and other OR team members.
- Provides a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to standards of aseptic technique and department policy.
- Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, team members and ancillary staff.
- Participates in the performance improvement process and adheres to regulatory compliance throughout the organization.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position has:
- Completion of Surgical Technology program and/or
- RN license to practice in State of Iowa
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the operating room
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to surgical procedures
- Prior experience in Orthopedics preferred
- Ability to maintain a BLS qualification for Surg Tech, ACLS for RN
- Ability to perform in situations requiring set limits, standards and strict adherence to established procedures and guidelines
- Excellent data collection and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Ability to maintain composure in emergency, critical and/or uncommon situations
