About Us

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about our company by assisting in our Financial Services department. The intern works closely with our team to collect, interpret and report on various financial, actuarial and operational data to ensure the accuracy of reports and queries and to provide a data-driven foundation for decision-making. They work with accountants, actuaries and other business areas to find patterns in financial data, research and resolve data discrepancies, and provide process improvement recommendations. Term: Fall 2024, approximately 14 weeks, flexible schedule but must be available to work 20-25 hours per week. What You'll Do: <ul><li>Learn insurance industry terminology, concepts, and processes.</li> <li>Perform data processing, cleaning, and validation for modeling, leading to actionable insights.</li> <li>Gain direct experience in conducting business analysis as well as the opportunity to present analysis.</li> <li>Assist in creating monthly/quarterly reports on key financial metrics and business trends.</li> <li>Learn how to perform ad hoc analytical support.</li> <li>Provide suggestions to management for improving internal processes.</li> <li>Learn and become proficient on internal software systems.</li> <li>Fulfill tasks set out by supervisor in a timely manner.</li> <li>Build a lasting professional network throughout the program.</li> <li>Final project capstone presentation may be required.</li> </ul> Education and Experience: Qualified candidates will be seniors pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, or Insurance, preferably in their final year. Recent graduates pursuing a Master's degree in these fields are also preferred. Ideal candidates will possess: <ul><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and create financial models.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.</li> <li>Intermediate proficiency in Excel, SQL, and/or Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) is preferred.</li> <li>Previous experience in a professional setting is preferred.</li> </ul> <img src="https://ars2.equest.com/?response_id=44c84fd48b8dccba9757f4ac6139b9dd&view" alt=" "/>
