About Us
Your Adoption Journey Begins Here
A Greater Hope, also known as the Greater Hope Foundation for Children, has remained committed to connecting families throughout Southern California since 2002. We are advocates for children, birth parents, and adoptive families. For some of the children in our care, returning to their birth family is not an option. We believe that all children have a right to a permanent, loving family of their own. You can choose to open your home forever to a child in need. A Greater Hope assists waiting adoptive parents every step of the way as they build their family through adoption.
Our staff is passionate about building happy, healing, loving adoptive families and serving the adoption community with integrity, determination, and care. It’s through unconditional love we thrive.
A Greater Hope has proudly served hundreds of adults who choose to build, or grow, their family through adoption. For some children in foster care, returning to their birth family is not an option. These children, who range in age from a few months old to teenagers, need another form of permanency, which is achieved through adoption. Let A Greater Hope be your expert guide on your adoption journey.
What is Adoption?
Adoption means that a child moves permanently from one family to another. The adoptive parents assume parental rights over the child and are responsible for the emotional, legal and social care of the child. Once a child is adopted, the adoptive parents have the same legal rights they would possess if the child was born to them biologically.

Types of Adoption
Adopting through foster care is very different than adopting internationally or through a private domestic adoption. There are no legal fees and there is ongoing support for you and your adopted child, even after the adoption is finalized. This ongoing support is called Adoption Assistance. Adoption Assistance is financial, in the form of monthly cash payments. Adoption Assistance support is also provided through services, in the form of classes, counseling, medical insurance and more. These benefits vary from state to state.
