About Us
As one of the nation’s leading health systems, ScionHealth empowers the hands that heal to do what they do best. ScionHealth’s present and future are rooted in our communities and caregivers, so we listen and collaborate with them to find innovative solutions that cultivate a positive patient experience, delivering the right level of care at the right time, close to home.
Our Purpose
ScionHealth is a healthcare system that delivers outstanding care by supporting those who care most. That’s why we put our caregivers at the forefront of everything we do and every choice we make.
How? By providing tools, technology and resources that enable exceptional employee and patient experiences. And by ensuring communities and individuals have the medical facilities and health professionals necessary to address whatever issues they may face.
We support our caregivers in everything they do so they can do what they do best — provide healing to those who need it, when and where they need it. ScionHealth. Empowering the hands that heal.
What Scion Means
The word “scion” means a young shoot or twig of a plant, especially one cut for grafting or rooting. ScionHealth was formed from distinguished and powerful legacy organizations with the expectation to evolve and thrive by practicing our core values:
- Value Every Voice
- Show Courage
- Lean Into new ideas
We empower our caregivers to do what they do best by embracing our values and modeling the related behaviors.
Values that Empower
Our values are straightforward, impactful, and achievable for everyone at ScionHealth. It doesn’t matter if you are a frontline caregiver or an office worker, everyone at ScionHealth has an opportunity to value every voice, show courage, and lean into new ideas. And by doing so, we will better serve our patients, our team members, our partners, our culture, and our company.
Our Community Hospitals
ScionHealth’s national, community hospital footprint encompasses 17 acute care campuses in 12 states that provide a total of more than 2,100 beds. Our locations are typically in smaller towns stretching from South Carolina to Western Idaho.
