As a System Administrator 1, you will be responsible for the functions outlined below:
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
- Design, develop, and administer Business System and Application Servers.
- Design, develop, and administer Endpoint Protection Servers.
- Develop and maintain scripts designed to ease system administration tasks and duties.
- Analyze and monitor performance of systems and servers, advise technical teams of potential problems and/or defects.
- Schedules, installs and tests system software upgrades.
- Administer user accounts in Active Directory, Office 365, and other corporate applications as deemed necessary.
- Serves as technical support for a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
- Integrate new applications and technologies into the enterprise environment.
- Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements.
- Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
- Confer with staff, users and management to develop requirements for new systems or modifications.
- Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
- Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software or peripheral equipment following design or installation specifications.
- Works independently to diagnose and solve complex technical problems
- Maintain daily records of communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
- Image, configure and update desktops and laptops to customer standards.
- Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
- Provide technical assistance to computer system users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for users in person, via telephone, or through remote assistance applications.
- Participates in the company's efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
- Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems or a related technical discipline with 0-2 years of experience or a combination of related experience, education and/or training to sufficiently and successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.
- Work is closely managed.
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and MCSA Certifications preferred.
- At least five years of experience supporting end users providing technical assistance and resolving technical issues for all known operating systems.
- Experience in diagnosing complex technical issues.
- Must have great skills in customer service.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
- Working knowledge of systems management and deployment appliances.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences through use of written and oral communication.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrates aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Broad knowledge of operating systems and commonly used software applications.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple projects, work under deadlines and work under pressure.
- Ability to work, interact and effectively communicate with all company officials, employees, vendors, customers, etc.
- Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Word)
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and work with our Permission to Play Values.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the work day.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
