Manufacturer of adhesive building materials seeking a Field Sales Rep to oversee customer sales in the Houston, TX area. Role will primarily be managing 200+ retail stores and the continued selling of product within assigned territory.

Description
- Implements the "route to market" strategy defined by the Company with the list of co-op regional chain stores and identifies new store opportunities in the area.
- Defines, together with the Regional Sales Manager, the best frequency of visit for every store depending on sales potential and based on account priority. Identifies new stores.
- Visits all 200-250 stores assigned to grow sales using the right visit methodology - building trust, granting excellent merchandising standards, seeking secondary positions, and gaining distribution with new products and implementing promotions.
- As a Technical Expert, agrees and implements a relevant and consistent Product Knowledge plan with store associates and contractor focused sales teams of all stores as a key strategic growth pillar.
- Propose and implement Customer events at store level, demo products in front of consumers / end users, and actively participate in grand opening events for new stores of the regional chains.
- Implement merchandising and demo materials in stores to help the sell out of strategic products helping customers in their purchasing decision-making process.
- Together with the Regional Sales Manager, negotiates and implements in-store promotions with the chains assigned, either in individual stores or at all stores in any given retail chain.
- Builds and maintains positive customer relationships at all levels of the chains under his/her responsibility as the primary Company contact.
- Works closely doing joint calls with the Rep agency members and 2 step distributors to grow their regional accounts.
- Works closely with the Company's customer service team to ensure that customer needs and requirements are met in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinates and participates in account meetings, trade shows, and other industry events with the assigned accounts as the primary representative of the Company.
- Works with Marketing to continue develop / improve selling and merchandising tools.
- Provides feedback on competition activities and product development.
Profile
- 2-3 years of field sales experience
- Ideal candidate will come from a retail background from a hardware store or experience managing the sale of product at a building material store
- Interest in DIY/Home improvement
- Experience interacting with retail store associates
- Experience interacting with construction contractors
- Excellent communication skills
