Sr. Solutions Architect

Farm Bureau Financial Services is looking for a Sr. Solutions Architect who can support enterprise system activities. You will help guide the development and management of an organizational portfolio of solutions. As a Sr. Solutions Architect, you can make measurable impacts to the business and help shape the future of Farm Bureau.
What You Will Do:
- Assist with formation of enterprise technology guidance including guiding principles and architecture guardrails, and influence adoption of that guidance.
- Support company and departmental initiatives, including portfolio management, analytical insight, proactive solution planning, strategic execution, quality assurance, and information sharing with business partners.
- Partner across IT and business teams on cost benefit analysis of solutions and tool sets and provides input to budget process.
- Help manage the technology portfolio and assist with oversight of the technology ecosystem at Farm Bureau.
- Work with external vendors molding strategic direction of vendor systems to support the strategic direction of Farm Bureau.
- Research, design and implement new initiatives to improve analysis, design, and development tools with opportunities for efficiency and automation in mind.
- Collaborate closely with business partners and IT team to evaluate requests for new systems, applications, product standards and services.
What It Takes to Join Our Team:
- College degree (Computer Science or software engineering preferred) or equivalent plus 7 years progressive relevant experience required.
- Seven or more years of experience executing technology strategies, experience required in enterprise level architecture and security, data management, application development, integration platforms and frameworks, security, and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.
- Experience with diverse set of core processing platform technologies across on premises, SaaS, and Cloud environments.
- Business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required.
- In-depth knowledge of multiple IT platforms and company standards as well as current application developments required.
- Knowledge of future trends in the IT industry as well as the insurance and financial services industry.
- Three to five years of Property and Casualty (P&C) business knowledge and experience preferred.
- Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve goals required.
- Excellent analytical / conceptual thinking skills, technical systems knowledge, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to work in-person from our picturesque office in West Des Moines, IA.
