A healthcare facility in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum tenens opportunity. This position is within a high-volume Level II trauma center, providing an exciting and fast-paced environment for skilled advanced practice providers.
The facility has 423 hospital beds, including a 49-bed Emergency Department, and serves approximately 70,000 patients annually. The trauma center is designated as Level II, and the role requires no on-call responsibilities.
In this role, the NP or PA will provide comprehensive care to emergency department patients, including initial evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and traumas. Responsibilities include collaborating with attending physicians and the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and effective patient care. Providers will also perform emergency procedures within their scope of practice, such as suturing, splinting, and other interventions, while maintaining accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with facility protocols.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Advanced certifications required: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support).
- Experience in a high-volume emergency department or trauma setting.
- Active Texas license.
