POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Benefits Representative supports the administration of all University Health insurance plans for employees, retirees, and House Staff. This positions serves as a key resource for employees by providing comprehensive information about benefit plans, policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring accurate application and adherence to University Health standards.
In collaboration with insurance carriers, plan administrators, and third-party vendors, the Benefits Representative resolves coverage and claims issues. They assist the plan participants in understanding the provisions, limitations, and options within the University Health benefits plans.
The Benefits Representatives consistently upholds a high standard of service by providing courteous, timely, and accurate support in all interactions, whether in person, over the phone, or via other communication channels. Additionally, this position requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with employees and vendors.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A minimum High School Diploma Two years of experience in Human Resources and a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Understanding of legislation to to include ERISA, Section 125/Flexible Spending Accounts, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA is preferred. PC and Windows experience to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of PeopleSoft or other HRIS systems is preferred.
