Description:
CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a full-time Payroll & HR Assistant. Under the direction of the HR Manager, the Payroll & HR Assistant is responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll and employee time system related responsibilities, as well as performing other HR functions and projects as directed.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Process bi-weekly payroll ensuring all hours and adjustments are entered, proactively running reports to capture any potential errors before transmitting and off-cycle payrolls.
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from our employees in a timely and detail-oriented manner.
- Review quarterly federal, state, and local tax reports prepared by the payroll vendor.
- Review Department of Labor reports on a quarterly and annual basis prepared by the third- party payroll vendor.
- Respond to all audits and other payroll-related inquiries.
Full-time 40 hours p/w

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or HR.
- 2+ years of payroll experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll principles and concepts.
- Experience with Paylocity a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Communicate effectively at all levels in a diverse fast paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
- Valid NJ Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
