Shift: First Shift (6 AM - 3 PM)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled DOT Driver to join our team in Wilmer, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods and materials to various locations, adhering to all DOT regulations and safety standards. You will ensure timely and accurate deliveries, maintain a high level of professionalism, and uphold excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling large and medium-sized items, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Pick up new products and deliver them to designated locations along predetermined routes.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring they are properly secured.
- Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
- Conduct inspections of trailers, loads, and equipment for safety and compliance.
- Perform basic trailer and yard truck maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, drivers, and customers.
- Maintain accurate delivery and vehicle maintenance records.
- Promote and practice good housekeeping and workplace safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid CDL license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience driving commercial vehicles.
- Familiarity with the Wilmer, TX area.
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Ability to speak Spanish.
