As Tipmont's Operational Technology Engineer, you will support reliable electricity delivery to more than 25,000 members by programming and maintaining SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition), MDMS (meter data management system), DERMS (distributed energy resource management software) and other operational technology. You'll maintain and manage associated equipment or communication devices, you'll also lead and assist Tipmont's engineering team on data analytics using Tipmont's DMA (data management and automation) application tools , and you'll support Operations and Engineering teams on developing switching procedures, power quality analyses and reliability studies.
Tipmont will consider various levels of occupational experience for one (1) position - ranging from level I to intermediate - as outlined in the Required and Preferred Skills section s .
Duties that intrigue you include:
- Developing and implementing operational technology in line with codes and regulations
- Maintaining contemporary knowledge of protocols and devices for SCADA system support
- Expanding expertise in emerging technology to enhance SCADA / communication systems
- Monitoring, diagnosing and troubleshooting system statuses daily with appropriate teams
- Conducting analysis of plant events such as m ajor system faults or operational failures
- Collaborating with teams to generate reports and dashboards for strategic decision-making
- Overseeing Tipmont's DMA application suite for monitoring and credential management
- Performing SCADA database editing, interface editing and control point testing
- Assisting with FLISR (fault location, isolation & service restoration) program development
- Coordinating database upgrades with substation / field supervisors to ensure data integrity
- Analyzing operational technology data to identify trends and issues
- Building relationships with internal and external partners to carry out project activities
- Creating , analyzing and maintaining engineering specs, drawings and documentation
- Supporting the installation and maintenance of SCADA equipment and related devices
- Applying updates, patches and configuration changes as necessary
- Training and explaining for non-technical staff on the benefits of any tools developed

Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science or industrial engineering
- Three-plus years of experience
Preferred Skills:
- Five-plus years of experience with programmable logic controller, power systems engineering and / or SCADA
- Knowledge of data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL)
- Communication network experience related to device management and communication
- Database administration experience
- Power system knowledge
