SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Service Technician maintains residential and commercial client systems with various phase configurations, primarily 3-phase. This involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and responding to RMAs for broken or faulty solar PV system components. Technicians independently perform varying corrective, preventative, and emergency maintenance, with testing procedures including I-V curve tracing, ground fault testing, fall of potential testing, megger testing, transformer turn testing, string testing, IR connection testing, voltage and amperage testing, communication signal testing, torque testing, and basic system commissioning. SAFETY: This position is classified as safety sensitive. It involves exposure to extreme weather conditions while operating heavy equipment and tools on rooftops. It requires being alert and identifying and reporting safety hazards. Work on or near energized electrical equipment, which poses the risk of electric shock or arc flash. Employees must undergo comprehensive training and demonstrate full comprehension before commencing any on-site activities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be considered. • High school or GED required. Associate's degree or higher is preferred. • A clean driving record with a valid driver's license in active status. A minimum of three years of experience in solar installations, with knowledge of both commercial and residential systems. • A minimum of one year of experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS). • A professional appearance combined with excellent customer service skills. • NABSCEP, Arc Flash, CPR/AED, and OSHA 10 Certifications are preferred.
