Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Machine Operator to join our team at the SunButter production facility. In this role, you will operate, monitor, and maintain production equipment to ensure efficient processing and packaging of our high-quality sunflower butter products. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation
- Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment, including mixers, grinders, and packaging machines, according to established procedures.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure product quality and efficiency.
- Quality Control
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
- Report any deviations or defects to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Safety and Compliance
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulatory guidelines, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Production Support
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and report shortages.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quotas.
- Documentation
- Complete daily production logs and equipment maintenance records accurately.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating and maintaining production equipment, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Certification in forklift operation.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a production facility with varying temperatures (cooler or warmer environments depending on the process area).
- Exposure to loud machinery, dust, and food-grade oils may occur.
- Employees must wear appropriate PPE, such as gloves, hairnets, and ear protection.
- Production schedules may require overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to stand for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
- Regularly lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Perform repetitive tasks, including bending, twisting, and reaching.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production quotas.
