Objectives: The Mechanical Engineer reports to the Director of Engineering. This position will be primarily responsible for assisting the Mechanical Engineering Department with creating and maintaining 3D models, drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and routers. Duties: Primary Responsibility: • Create and maintain 3D models for components and machine assemblies in SolidEdge • Create, maintain, and release drawing package for machine assemblies • Use ERP system to create and maintain Bills of Materials • Process change order paperwork within Engineering department • Work with manufacturing to implement Engineering change requests (Action Cards) • Assist in updating and maintaining manufacturing documentation for standard models • Assist in creating service order packages • Assist in product testing General • Comply with the company safety procedures. • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to develop and execute product design • Live the company culture of integrity and professional competence. • Provide timely and detailed status updates. • Ensure quality standards are maintained in a highly regulated, process-driven environment. Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering • 1 to 3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, NPD, or related experience in industrial sanitizing, washing, food processing, and/or food service equipment • Experience using CAD software such as SolidEdge and/or similar • Sheetmetal design experience is highly desirable • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Experience in high mix low volume preferred • Excellent problem-solving skills • Strong computer and mathematical skills • Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change • Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative • Open to travel up to 5%
