Position Overview
Weldall Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Sales & Estimating Manager to lead and drive our sales initiatives while enhancing our estimating processes. This role is crucial to expanding our business and ensuring accurate, efficient project quoting for complex weldments and heavy fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will bring robust sales leadership experience, a deep understanding of estimating in a manufacturing environment, and a passion for leveraging technology to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet growth targets and expand customer base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, identifying new opportunities within existing and potential accounts.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align sales objectives with company goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, setting clear goals and driving accountability.
- Estimating Oversight:
- Oversee and improve the estimating function to ensure timely, accurate, and competitive quotes for complex weldments and heavy fabrication projects.
- Analyze project requirements, labor, material, and production costs to develop precise project estimates.
- Ensure estimates reflect current market conditions and align with production capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to refine and validate estimates.
- Continuous Improvement & Technology Utilization:
- Evaluate and implement technology to enhance estimating processes and streamline workflows.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving measures within the sales and estimating departments.
- Leverage data and analytics to drive insights and refine estimating accuracy.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantages.
- Customer Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile customers and large-scale projects.
- Ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated throughout the estimating and production process.
- Present proposals and negotiate contracts to secure profitable work.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years in sales management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal processing, machining and/ or welding.
- Strong background in estimating complex weldments or large-scale fabrication projects.
- Must have blueprint reading expertise
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and managing high-performing teams.
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
- Proficiency in estimating software and CRM tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
