Role Purpose
Reporting to theDirector, Sourcing USA, this role isresponsible for management of hardlines product categories for Funko in partnership with the Sourcing team in HQ.This includes negotiating with suppliers, leveraging their expertise to secure advantageous terms, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams, such as the Sales, Planning, Merchandising, Product Development teams, to establish optimal pricing structures to ensure competitiveness, drive growth, uphold quality standards, and achieve overall business objectives. This role can be based in either Hong Kong or China.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage hardlines product categories for Funko in partnership with the Sourcing Team in HQ.
- Guide and train current and new suppliers on Funko and Customer requirements and processes.
- Focus on factory relationship, development and onboarding in new regions of production.Must be able to travel.
- Support development and production calendar creation and maintenance as needed.
- Partner on vendor strategy, product costing/placement, managing vendor communication, and production management related to designated hardlines product categories.
- Execute merchandise quality, sustainability and risk management initiatives with best-in-class suppliers that evolve with both the needs of the business and industry standards.
- Guide Sourcing Team in HQ to deliver accurate costing information and insights for informed decision-making.
- Provide feedback on industry trends and market updates to Global Sourcing Partners.
- Maintain and enhance long-term business relationships with suppliers to maximize business growth and opportunities and ensure alignment with Funko processes and procedures.
- Work closely with cross-region business and functional teams with vision, transparency and good planning.
- Ensure all hardlines suppliers are tracking the production cycle against key milestone dates through daily maintenance of the Development Tracking Report (DTR).
- Liaise with vendors, material and trim suppliers to ensure guidelines are followed to avoid late deliveries and chargebacks due to non-compliance.
- Hold regular check-ins with HQ Sourcing Team to ensure all are clear on any changes in process or requirements, both internally and in relation to retail partners.
- Prepare any ad-hoc reports as requested (Time and Action Calendars, production timelines, capacity planning, status updates, etc.)
- Ensure the product meets established standards for safety and quality and is clear on all regulatory changes as PSQA updates.
What You’ll Bring:
- At least 8-10 years of working experience in the industry with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial position especially in a factory base.
- Exceptional technical knowledge of Hardlines products.
- Ability to successfully oversee a basic category while making product quality and seasonal deliverables a priority.
- Familiar with the merchandising/sourcing industry for the Global market, working experience in MNC is preferable.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and strive for continuous improvement.
- Excellent management skills and analytical ability.
- Detail-minded, able to work independently and under a tight schedule.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with different levels to achieve results.
- Excellence in both spoken and written English and Mandarin.
- Good computer and ERP knowledge.
- Willing to travel frequently to China and Southeast Asia.
