Our challenge We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Big Data Engineer – Scala and Spark. This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact on transformative projects in a dynamic and innovative environment. The Role Responsibilities: We are seeking 8 years experienced Lead Big Data Engineer with expertise in Scala and Apache Spark to design and implement large-scale data processing solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in big data technologies, working with distributed systems, and managing complex data pipelines. You will lead a team of engineers in building scalable data architectures, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and reliability. Responsibilities include designing data workflows, optimizing Spark jobs, and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires proficiency in Scala, Spark, Hadoop, and related big data frameworks, as well as strong problem-solving and communication skills. Requirements: You are: Extensive experience in developing big data solutions using Apache Spark and Scala. Strong understanding of distributed computing principles and big data processing frameworks. Proven ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance data pipelines using Spark. Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation, with experience in integrating Spark with databases. Expertise in handling large datasets, optimizing data processing jobs, and troubleshooting performance issues. Solid knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem tools (e.g., HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase) for data storage and management. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrating Spark applications with cloud-based services. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience leading technical teams and guiding best practices. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills in distributed systems and Spark-related technologies. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications in Spark or big data technologies preferred.
