Job Title: Warehouse Technician Location: Lowell, MA Pay: $21/hr OT Contract to Hire - 6 month contract and then direct hire Work Schedule: 1st shift: 5am-2pm 40/hrs 5-10 hours OT each week MUST HAVES: Warehouse experience is a must Experience with Shipping and Receiving in a warehouse Computer skills This position involves a warehouse that ships and receives drums of hazardous and nonhazardous materials for 10 days. All of the drums are sealed when they get them and they will NOT be handling the materials inside. Must pass a drug and background Our Environmental Recycling client is looking for a Warehouse Technician who will be assisting with their 10 Day Storage facility. They will help with the safe offloading of trucks, correct barrel labeling, generating manifests, and shipping the materials to where they need to go. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times. Assisting with 10 day operations overseeing the moving, loading, and off-loading of trucks. Assisting with inbound and outbound trailers at the 10-day facility. Helps coordinate the processing of inbound and stored materials. Helping with inventory of supplies and loading supplies onto outbound trucks for customer pick-ups. Proper placarding and labeling of all containers and trucks at the 10 day. Work with other employees in accordance of company safety policies and procedures. Preparation of shipping documents for customers. Qualifications: High School Diploma or its Equivalent required. 1-3 years experience in shipping and receiving is required. Preferred Qualifications: The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. DOT Training Good knowledge of the regulations Necessary training to handle hazardous waste Detailed oriented Good organizational skills Good communication skills for internal and external customers Working knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations required Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
