Warehouse Supervisor – Food Manufacturing Freeport, IL Our client is an expanding manufacturer of specialty ingredients based in the Freeport, IL area. They are actively looking to hire a Warehouse Supervisor to manage their smaller but busy warehouse. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading the accuracy of our Warehouse operations. This position will manage inventories, shipping and receiving. This position will report into the Business Continuity Manager and manage the warehouse staff in their daily responsibilities. RESPONSIBILTIES Lead Supply Chain function and drive efforts to design robust processes. Manage the warehousing function, including staff, for smooth transitions between incoming and outgoing shipments, optimizing inventory volumes and warehouse capacities, keeping a clean and organized space and pre-staging of materials for production. Ensure all receiving and shipping transactions are entered into the ERP system timely. Manage logistics for inventory maintenance, manufacturing, shipment and delivery, and returns on products.Implement warehouse flow process to improve the efficiency of materials movement. Develop standards to track inventory turns. Create schedule for inbound and outbound deliveries at Orangeville warehouse. Perform Cycle counts of inventory and submit the variance report for inventory adjustments on a monthly basis. Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help supply chain team and leadership understand the logistics perspective.Manage rework inventory Manage obsolete inventory Manage inventory turns Ensure receiving & storage processes are compliant. Develop and maintain 5S program for warehouse team. Ensure customer orders are shipped on time and complete, meeting all quality requirementsCoordinate needs with Customer Service and Warehouse Manage current and future demand requirements with key vendors and manufacturers Manage the control point process for data entry to ensure the correct parties are entering transactions and all entries are accurate. Lead the efforts in continuous improvement projects.Analyze inventory, production schedules, back orders, future ships, purchases and sales to initiate continuous improvement projects and assign to team. Collaborate cross-functionally with others from diverse backgrounds in order to identify problems and find solutions. Work with Scheduling Manager, Sales, Customer Relations and R&D to determine sales forecasting in relation to inventory levels Attend production, forecast and open orders meetings, and Monthly Ops Meeting. Strong sense of urgency, can-do-it and customer first mindset. Train, coach and develop the warehouse team. REQUIREMENTS Education: HS Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing field with emphasis on Supply Chain and Warehousing Ability to manage logistics of all aspects of supply chain, from product development to the shipment of finished items. Basic understanding of accounting or finance. Must be able to comprehend legal documents. Strong communication skills and the desire to build lasting rapport with internal and external customers.
