Akkodis is seeking a Technical Editor (Hybrid- 3 days onsite) based out of Malvern, PA. This position is a W2 contract role that has a great chance at becoming fulltime hire for qualified candidates. This position requires someone who has 3-15 years of experience with Technical Writing/Editing from automotive or other similar industries. GENERAL SUMMARY Works directly with client, technical writers and project/program manager to develop final product. Reviews service information based on the end user needs, client specifications and expectations, and the current product information. Utilizes various computer systems for delivery of the final product to end user and client. Interacts with department management and support personnel for input, direction and resource acquisition. The Technical Editor position pays $35-$40 an hour ( $70k-$83k a year) W2 1 year contract with great opportunity for direct hire or extension of the contract. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Reviews technical documentation for spelling, grammar, and formatting. Must be able to work with technical writers to understand complex technical terms. Interfaces with customers to understand publication specifications and deliverable requirements. Participates in meetings with clients, subject matter experts and departmental co-workers. Advises project manager/team leader of project status and potential issues. Responsible for delivery of projects which are on time, within budget and accurate. Completes various assignments as directed by management. Uses office equipment as required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal and written communication, such as client communications and technical information. Ability to communicate ideas, in text format, in a clear, concise manner. Ability to communicate ideas verbally, in a clear, concise manner. Knowledge of computer programs, such as MS Word and XML. Ability to meet deadlines, monitor and assess performance within deadlines, and utilize appropriate resources to ensure timely and accurate deliverables. Ability to work with short deadlines and high stress and to handle frequently changing demands. Ability to utilize creative problem resolution skills to handle client related concerns. Ability to be forward thinking. Approximately two years of experience is required in editing, or a related field. A degree in English or Technical Writing.
