POSITION OVERVIEW Our Healthcare team is seeking an Analyst who will support the research efforts of one of our Healthcare Portfolio Managers. The ideal candidate will have robust professional experience building financial models for primarily commercial-stage therapeutics companies, collecting and analyzing data relating to the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry and a demonstrated passion for equity investing. The Analyst will report directly to the PM and will have the opportunity to learn the tools necessary to succeed as an investor in this space. The Analyst will also work closely with other investment professionals on the team and within the broader organization, upholding the firm’s culture of collaboration across teams. The successful candidate can expect a great deal of responsibility, exposure and ownership from day-one and will play a key role in the investment process from start to finish. RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct company and industry fundamental research to develop a deep understanding of key business and industry drivers. This includes, but is not limited to: monitor and summarize daily / weekly news, build and maintain infrastructure for tracking catalysts, drug launches and drug sales, prepare for and participate in sell-side / doctor events, conferences, calls, etc. Create, maintain, and update market/company financial models to drive investment decisions, including earnings previews and reviews for stocks under coverage. Stay apprised of emerging business trends and capital markets activity. Interact and maintain positive relationships with company management and other industry participants to grow a meaningful network of business contacts. Clearly and effectively communicate / articulate ideas to colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: A strong academic record from a competitive institution – Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum 1.5 years of relevant professional experience – preference for investment banking, private equity, equity research or equivalent experience including direct experience in the Healthcare sector. Professional experience with accounting and financial modeling. Demonstrated passion for the equity markets, investing and analyzing companies. Python programming experience preferred. The Firm offers a total compensation package that includes a base salary and discretionary performance-related bonus, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Consistent with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law, the currently anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000, which is specific to New York City and New York State.
