Client: Digital Storage Title: Logistics Specialist II Location: Milpitas, CA Rates: $40/hr - $46/hr Duration: 12 Months Required Skills: LOGISTICS DOCUMENTATION INVOICES IMPORT/EXPORT OPERATIONS Additional Skills: EXCELLENT WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS DETAIL-ORIENTED BILLS OF LADING PACKING SUPPLY CHAIN HTS PROCUREMENT SELF-MOTIVATED TRADING TEAM PLAYER ORACLE PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT Key Responsibilities: Review and Release Transaction on System Hold: Analyze and resolve reasons for holds, following necessary escalation paths to release transaction holds. Customs Compliance: Ensure all import/export transactions comply with local, national, and international customs regulations, including accurate tariff classifications, duties, taxes, and adherence to import/export requirements. Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and submit necessary customs documentation, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other relevant documents required for customs clearance. Coordination with Internal Departments: Liaise with internal teams and shipment requestors to facilitate timely release of shipments and resolve any issues or discrepancies during the clearance process. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate compliance risks in shipments, customs documentation, or processes to avoid penalties or delays. Import/Export Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline logistics operations, reduce TAT, and enhance supply chain efficiency. Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, procurement, and business partner teams to ensure smooth movement of goods across borders and resolve any customs-related issues that arise. Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred). Experience: 3-4 years of hands-on experience in customs operations, import/export documentation, or international trade. Knowledge of HTS and ECCN is a plus. Technical Skills: Knowledge of INCOTERMS, customs regulations, and compliance requirements. Strong understanding of import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc. Proficiency in Oracle GTM software. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customs authorities, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing documents and ensuring compliance with complex regulations.
