What you will do! Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate departmental operations to ensure delivery of high-quality patient care 24/7. Oversee fiscal management, staffing, and resource allocation to maintain efficiency and excellence in patient outcomes. Utilize evidence-based practices to promote safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care. Contribute to organizational strategic planning and participates in the attainment of departmental and hospital goals. Advocate for resources that support patient safety, staff development, and service quality. Serve as a patient advocate to clarify and evaluate ethical issues while supporting diverse cultural practices. Foster a healing and inclusive environment for patients, families, and staff. Promote shared decision-making within the unit and through participation in the Professional Nursing Council. Facilitate collaboration among nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams across the organization and community. Promote the professional growth and development of all staff members through education, coaching, and mentorship. Requirements & Minimum Qualifications Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Idaho Board of Nursing, or eligibility for licensure through: Temporary licensure pending Idaho Board approval, or Multi-state RN licensure privilege compact with Idaho. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Minimum 3 years of leadership experience (e.g., Charge Nurse or equivalent role). Master's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field preferred. Level III or IV NICU experience highly preferred. Current approved leadership certification required (must obtain upon meeting eligibility requirements). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of hire (AHA Healthcare Provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver, or Kootenai Health BLS).
