The Director of Clinical Accounts will play a pivotal role in cultivating strategic client relationships, collaborating effectively with leaders at all levels to foster mutually beneficial partnerships. This position necessitates a robust background in pharmacy along with exceptional business insight to oversee the development and execution of customized solutions that address client needs. The Director is accountable for a pharmacy benefits relationship that aligns with the client’s intent for access, service, and cost-effectiveness, while also achieving the goals set by RxBenefits. Utilizing their expertise as a pharmacist, they will make insightful, evidence-based recommendations, enhance long-term partnerships, and drive client satisfaction and retention. This role is perfect for established professionals passionate about strengthening client relationships through strategic, data-driven decision-making. This position offers remote work flexibility or the option to work from our Birmingham, AL headquarters, with travel expected to be up to 25%. NOTE: A licensed pharmacist is required for this position. Key Responsibilities Include: Act as the primary advisor on RxBenefits and/or PBM services and products, providing insightful recommendations as needed. Manage the complete client contract lifecycle, including negotiation of renewals and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations by both RxBenefits and the client. Work autonomously, efficiently navigating internal channels to swiftly resolve client challenges and meet strategic needs. Raise issues to Leadership as necessary. Ensure high client satisfaction by maintaining RxBenefits' service levels, increasing the chances of contract renewals. Build a cooperative relationship with the RxBenefits PBM Relations team to fulfill unique client needs. Conduct in-depth evaluations for clients regarding factors influencing drug trends. Stay informed about the drug pipeline and proactively advise clients and brokers on effective drug category management strategies. Consult with brokers and clients on recommended benefit design and formulary approaches. Ensure that modeling and reporting align with the needs and decision-making of brokers and clients. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the client’s organizational structure, culture, and goals. Establish trust and foster goodwill with clients and brokers through transparent and consultative engagements. Engage proactively with brokers/clients about value-added solutions and any potential challenges. Collaborate with the Account Manager to ensure client benefit changes are executed in accordance with the client’s intent. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the PBM marketplace; understand state/regional legal requirements impacting client benefits as well as carriers and underwriting requirements. Prepare necessary reports for Account Management leadership. Keep accurate records on all assigned client accounts. Provide support to the Account Manager, acting as a liaison among Pharmacy Operations, clients, brokers, and PBM companies to resolve service issues. Aim to meet or exceed departmental goals as defined by the Senior Vice President - Account Management. Represent a positive image internally and externally, fostering relationships with employees, clients, providers, and the community. Collaborate across departments to deliver strategic recommendations based on the specific needs of clients. Encourage teamwork and a supportive culture within the department, displaying a can-do attitude to provide exceptional service to brokers and clients. May lead team members through new processes and changes, facilitating team meetings as necessary. Support leadership with initiatives aimed at improving account retention and achieving key performance indicators. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills / Experience: 8 years of combined experience in Account Management and as a Clinical Pharmacist. Current pharmacist license in good standing (any state). Experience in the pharmacy industry is essential. Ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders both internally and externally. Experience overseeing and renewing client contracts. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Comprehensive knowledge of Employee Benefits insurance and the PBM industry. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Outstanding organizational skills and the capacity to prioritize in a dynamic environment. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
