As a Dialysis Patient Care Specialist at US Renal Care, you will play a crucial role in changing lives by providing compassionate care and support to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) and will be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team aimed at providing the best care for patients with renal failure. Your Responsibilities: Patient Care: Work directly with patients to deliver safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. This includes gathering patient statistics before and after treatment, initiating and monitoring treatments, terminating treatments, and collecting blood samples as required by physician orders. Technical Duties: Ensure that quality is prioritized by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, maintaining hygiene by cleaning and disinfecting machines post-treatment, and conducting safety checks while logging results for quality assurance. Safety and Compliance: Utilize appropriate safety protocols, including personal protective equipment, and strictly adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable state/federal regulations. Participate actively in staff meetings and continuing education opportunities. What We Seek: High school graduate or equivalent. A genuine desire to work in healthcare and support patients. Previous experience in healthcare, particularly in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA, is advantageous. Comfort with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to established protocols. Ability to distinguish all primary colors. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of the USRC training program, approved by the Medical Director, and demonstrated competency in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire. CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire or as mandated by state regulations. Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a certified state or national program within 18 months of your hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter.
