Location: Kent Campus Hospital Status: Full Time 80 Hours Shift: Nights SALARY RANGE: 16.57 - 24.86HOURLY General Summary: The Patient Transport Technician II provides or assists with efficiently moving patients and equipment between various hospital areas. The incumbent should be committed to continually improving our services' quality, reliability, and value. They will be expected to maintain professional relationships with all hospital staff and other personnel and act as subject-matter experts in customer service, patient transportation, and equipment cleaning. Responsibilities: 1. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards. 2. Performs all duties following continuous quality improvement principles and observes the principles of a high-reliability organization. 3. Provides a quality service, performs to quality standards, and meets customer and company metrics. 4. Picks up, cleans, and processes all equipment, preparing it for patient-ready use, following all manufacturer and hospital protocols. 5. Provides efficient transportation of the patients, including assistance with transfer to and from bed, wheelchair, stretcher-chair, or stretcher, and positioning. Assists patients in ambulation to and from wheelchairs and with positioning. Transports patients to the requested destination without assistance. Uses appropriate equipment to transfer and transport. Obtains Ticket to Ride and confirms patient condition with clinical staff before departure. 6. Ensures appropriate distribution of patient transportation equipment. Maintains allotted equipment levels per unit. Recognizes equipment needing repair, labels it properly, and delivers it to plant operations. Retrieves and delivers patient equipment (telemetry monitor pack, IV pumps). 7. Observe patients' condition for signs, symptoms, and unusual occurrences. Able to recognize and act during an emergency. 8. Ensure patient safety by observing patients frequently and taking necessary safety precautions. Secures patient in a wheelchair, stretcher-chair, stretcher, or bed. Identifies appropriate attachment of medical equipment to a wheelchair, stretcher-chair, stretcher, or bed. 9. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of responsibilities. Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience: Education: High School Diploma or GED ; Credential(s): Basic Life Support -Within 90 days, if not already obtained. ; Experience: Required: Six (6) months of customer service experience. Preferred: Previous experience in an acute care facility.
