JOB PURPOSE: The Clinical Support Specialist II provides clinical support by generating documentation of equipment justification based on the ATPs evaluation to ensure funding of both basic and complex rehab equipment. The Clinical Support Specialist II also supports the Clinical Review Team with Denial Management. In this position, the Clinical Support Specialist II may provide clinical feedback to the ATPs if equipment justification does not support the equipment chosen. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Review documentation, including evaluation notes, quotes and where present Occupational Therapy notes, RX and any other relevant information on rehab equipment for clinical appropriateness. Check manufacturer specifications for clarification on equipment as necessary. Contact Remote Technicians (RTS), Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs), Customer Care Coordinators (CCCs) and Document Funding Center (DFC) staff as necessary for clarification on equipment, customer, and Payer requirements. Generates appropriate physician order documentation to ensure funding approval and reimbursement. Drive compliance in accordance with Payers and the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Provide verbal and written clinical feedback to Referral Sources, Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs), Customer Care Coordinators (CCCs), and Document Funding Center (DFC) staff on order/denial resolution. Identify gaps/trends and develop training for Numotion staff and outside referral sources on order specific educational opportunities as well as broader educational initiatives regarding Payer specific justification expectations. Maintain consistent and accurate follow-up in a timely manner on all assigned orders. Support the Clinical Review Team, when necessary, with denial reviews and education. Utilize Numotion Leadership Principles to perform job with integrity, compliance, and values consistent with Numotion’ s mission. Adhere to employee or customer confidentiality and comply with Numotion’ s policies and federal regulations. Always provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in management or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered. Four (4) years of experience in order processing. Six (6) months medical documentation review experience or training. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills. PREFERRED COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of mobility and accessibility equipment and products. Preferred understanding of the mobility and accessibility equipment industry and the third-party payer system. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities. Solid written and verbal communication, listening, organization and priority setting skills.
