Job Summary and Qualifications The Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in providing patient-centered respiratory care in compliance with departmental standards and practices. As an integral member of the patient care team, you will conduct diagnostic tests, administer therapies, and monitor patients on both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Key Responsibilities: Conduct patient assessments including breath sounds, airway integrity, and cuff pressure, documenting findings meticulously. Deliver respiratory therapies including oxygen and aerosol medications, along with chest physiotherapy. Assist with the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation. Continuously monitor patients and their responses to treatment, addressing any unintended responses with urgency. Facilitate the safe transportation of ventilator-dependent patients. Respond promptly to emergencies, ensuring airway integrity and ventilation during resuscitation scenarios. Qualifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment start date. Must possess either Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification is also required within 30 days of hiring.
