Job Overview The Health Research and Analytics (HRA) business line is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to support the U.S. Special Operations Command. In this crucial role, you will help drive the Preservation of the Forces and Family (POTFF) program, focused on enhancing the readiness and performance of Special Operations Forces (SOF) and their families. As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you'll engage in meaningful research and analytics that support evidence-based practices, making a real difference in the lives of SOF personnel and their families while thriving in a mission-oriented environment. Your duties will include comprehensive nurse practitioner services such as screening, examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and counseling. You will also promote preventive care through education and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, taking part in quality improvement initiatives and professional development. Key Responsibilities Provide a full spectrum of outcome-focused nurse practitioner services, including routine screenings and medical evaluations for various conditions, vaccinations, and patient counseling. Mentor and educate staff through training and evidence-based lectures to enhance knowledge and skill levels. Diagnose and address common acute health issues and chronic conditions following established protocols and guidelines. Encourage preventive health practices through individual and group education initiatives. Collaborate effectively with a diverse healthcare team to communicate treatment plans and patient education effectively. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols during all patient interactions. Contribute to staff meetings focused on case discussions, continuous education, and quality improvement efforts. Essential Qualifications Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Certification as a Psychiatric-Nurse Practitioner from a recognized national organization. Fulfill clinical competency requirements as specified by service guidelines. Possess an active, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
