Position Overview The Vice President of Pharmacy Operations will drive the strategic development, implementation, and management of our pharmacy hub services. This pivotal role ensures that patients have seamless access to medications through effective benefits verification, prior authorization, financial assistance, logistics coordination, and patient support initiatives. You will be responsible for operational excellence, compliance, technology integration, and engaging stakeholders to create a premier experience for patients, providers, and partners. The VP will report directly to Pharmacy President Bethanie Stein. Initially managing 5 team members, we anticipate the organization will grow to 300 by the end of 2026. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Chart the vision and roadmap for pharmacy operations in alignment with organizational objectives. Innovate hub services through technology, automation, and optimization of processes. Operational Management: Oversee daily hub operations concerning benefits verification, prior authorizations, financial assistance, and patient onboarding. Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, including HIPAA. Technology & Process Optimization: Collaborate with IT and product teams to deploy digital solutions that enhance workflow and patient/provider interactions. Utilize data analytics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with manufacturers, specialty pharmacies, payers, and providers to ensure effective service delivery. Act as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders related to hub initiatives. Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team, cultivating a culture centered on accountability, innovation, and patient focus. Offer mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities for staff. Make a significant impact with your expertise Key Candidate Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is preferred. 10 years of experience in pharmacy hub operations, specialty pharmacy, supply chain, or patient support programs, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role. In-depth understanding of manufacturer programs, pharmacy benefits, prior authorization processes, and patient assistance services. Proven success in leading large-scale operations, implementing technology-driven initiatives, and developing new programs and products. Strong analytical abilities, strategic thinking, and robust communication skills. Experience in external client-facing roles. Preferred: Master's degree. Expertise in hub, pharmacy, and PBM operations. Familiarity with digital pharmacy platforms and hub technology solutions. Understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks within pharmaceutical services. Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and negotiate effectively. Travel: Although this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for meetings or training may be necessary.
