Salary: $16.63 Hourly Location : Monrovia USD (DO) Job Type: Part-Time Job Number: 202500002 Department: Educational Services Opening Date: 12/01/2025 Description Under the direction of the Principal, supervises students before and after school, and during recess and lunch, to ensure a positive and safe environment. The Campus Assistant works cooperatively with the administration and school staff to carry out district rules and policies. Examples of Duties May include, but are not limited to the following items listed below: Enforces District and school policies and rules; Observes and reports student behavior in non-classroom activities including, but not limited to: before school, lunch time, recess and after school; Circulates throughout the cafeteria and other designated areas during mealtime; Maintains order and cleanliness in cafeteria and surrounding eating areas during lunch time; Helps students by opening packages and milk cartons; Assists with cleaning up spills and provides additional assistance as needed; Ensures students are orderly and behaving appropriately; Interacts with students to maintain order and provide assistance when needed; Organizes group games and activities as needed; Assumes responsibility for inventory and distribution of play equipment; Directs movement of students to and from playground, lunchroom, and classrooms in a safe and organized manner; Assesses playground for security and conditions of equipment and reports concerns to site administration; Reports disciplinary and other concerns to administration and/or classroom teacher; Provides assistance for students requiring additional educational guidance; Routinely checks restrooms for safety; Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns; Evaluates student injuries, determines course of action, performs minor first aid, and completes required paperwork incompliance with District policy; Reports safety, sanitary, and fire hazards immediately to administration; Operates a two-way radio as needed; Assists with directing and monitoring traffic either before and/or after school; Administers CPR and First Aid procedures as needed (such as the use of an Epi Pen); Performs related duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications Graduation from High School or equivalent; experience working with students or youth groups desired. Any other combination of training and/or experience that could provide the desired knowledge and abilities may be considered. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Chinese candidates are encouraged to apply- or - such alternative the personnel commission may find desirable. Required License/Certificates: Must possess and maintain a current CPR Certificate and a current First Aid certificate that are in compliance with the standards of the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (no online certificates). Physical Ability: Ability to see for purpose of observing and controlling student behavior; Stand and walk for long periods of time; Restrain violent persons; Cope with stress and emergency situations; Frequently climb stairs; Push and/or pull with occasional lifting/carrying weights up to 25 pounds; and, Bend, crawl, climb, crouch, kneel, and balance.
