Position Title: Children’s Waiting Room Attendant Department: Programs Status : Part-time (minimum of 25 hours a week) Reports to: Programs Manager FLSA Status : Non-exempt Revision Date: 01/23/2026 Location(s) – WBAMC and Mendoza Clinic Children’s Waiting Room Basic Job Description: Provide supervision to children (ages 6 months to 12 years old) whose parent/sibling(s) have medical appointments at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) or at Hugo V. Mendoza Family Care Center. Hours of operation for the Children’s Waiting Room are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 12:00pm at WBAMC and from 1:00pm – 4:30pm at Mendoza. Essential Duties: 1. Program and Services Management a. Provide a variety of activities for infants to 12 years old b. Model effective behavior for parents/guardians and volunteers c. Interact with children; provide a nurturing environment d. Communicate to Programs Manager and POC at Hospital any issues or concerns in CWR e. Follow all Child Abuse Reporting procedures when necessary f. Supervise all volunteers g. Ensure that all CWR policies are followed 2. Facility Management a. Open and close the center b. Maintain safe and clean child-watch area c. Ensure new parents/guardians fill out proper registration forms and waivers d. Ensure each parent/guardian signs child in and out e. Update registration files and parent/guardian information f. Ensure all records are kept locked in filing cabinet when not in use g. Report unsafe conditions to the Programs Manager and/or Executive Director h. Provide parent/guardian and Director with written incident or injury report involving any child i. Clean all toys with Cavi Wipes or spray upon closing of center 3. Equipment Management a. Keep toys and equipment clean and sanitary and in good working condition b. Inform Administrative Assistant about needed supplies 4. Other Duties as assigned by Branch Programs Manager Qualifications: Work experience with children. An understanding of military family challenges. Experience preparing and developing age-appropriate activities. *Reliable transportation is required for this position.
